Imagine Cup is the biggest technology competition for students in the world, related to software design. Warsaw hosts the national final of the competition. The teams compete for victory in three categories: social projects, games and innovations. Billennium has sponsored the innovations category of the competition for years.
„We live in times when start-ups are launched every second all around the world, and they are mainly designed for global market. Competition is huge and coming up with a new solution, in particular as far as “Innovations” category is concerned, is extremely difficult. That is why we admire all participants who decided to take part in this competition” – says Kamil Wysocki – Azure environment cloud solutions architect at Billennium LAB.
“Each team showed a great dose of innovation and high level of product maturity. They were mostly ready solutions or advanced PoCs. It is worth noting that the key to success is combining hardware with software: four out of five teams opted for such a combination. We have seen sophisticated equipment, VR goggles, as well as simple goggles made of wood. The participants are aware that software itself is not enough and it is only when combined with equipment and Azure could that it creates innovation the world is waiting for” – Kamil adds.
Billennium awarded its special prize to Białystok team Besos for Anime project. Congratulations and fingers crossed for the project’s development!
In August, Polish prizewinners will meet the teams from other countries during international finals in Seattle (USA). Winners of the world final will get a prize of $100,000. Polish students have participated in Imagine Cup since 2004.
